Features and OptionsOVERVIEW:
While not a name synonymous with boating to most yachtsmen in the western hemisphere, Hyundai is actually the parent company to the largest shipbuilder in the world, Hyundai Heavy Industries. In the late 1980's, they entered our pleasure craft market. However, due to a newly imposed 10% luxury tax, and a weak economy in the early 90's, their entry was short lived. This was unfortunate, because they produced some very solid, well engineered vessels that had design features ahead of their time. The floor plan boasts a cavernous salon (6'8" headroom) and living quarters, and an abundance of storage cabinets, lockers, and bins throughout (exceeding that of many 60 footers). Outside the cabin, the bridge and aft decks are equally as inviting, with enough room for a small army, and perfectly equipped for entertaining, extended cruising or living aboard. The business end of LONG GONE boasts reliable twin Cat 3208's (T 375 HP) that achieve a modest fuel burn (5-6 gph) at trawler speeds of 10 knots or less. The added benefit of the "yellow engines" is that when your schedule tightens, or inclement weather is moving in, the 49 Elegant is capable of taking you into the 20 knot range. Whether you enjoy relaxing at the dock, entertaining your entire office staff or you aspire to fly the gold (or platinum) twin tailed AGLCA Burgee, Long Gone is the perfect choice to meet your needs.
SALON:
Aft entry into the salon is through double doors on port of the aft deck. As you traverse down the three companionway steps with the assistance of the brass hand rail, the first impression is that the entire midship "living room" is very generous and inviting. An abundance of natural light is allowed through the extra large port and starboard windows. When at the lower helm, the captain will enjoy the panoramic view through the five panel (3 front & 2 side) windshield. The convenient starboard side entry door is appreciated by captain and crew when deck activity is required. Attractive beige carpet and the timeless warmth of teak tempt you to kick off your shoes and plop down in one of the two port-side recliners , or just lay back on the large sofa (starboard) and read your latest book or watch a movie on the flatscreen in the entertainment center (starboard side on the aft bulkhead). Cabin sole (under the carpet) is parquet, and there is ample storage (port and starboard) in lockers accessed through attractive cabinet doors.
GALLEY:
Moving forward and 4 steps down (to starboard) from the salon is a Galley that will get a thumbs-up from the most discerning chef. There is a full complement of household-sized appliances and a large double SS sink. An added bonus is the incredible amount of storage drawers & compartments (20+). There are even three in-sole hatches accessing additional storage bins. Across, to port, of the galley is the booth style dinette. The drop table converts the dinette to a double berth. Several storage cabinets, lockers and nooks surround the booth. (Did I mention that the 49 Elegant is an exercise in space and storage?)

FORWARD STATEROOM:
The forward (VIP) stateroom is richly appointed with teak throughout. Guest accommodations are surprisingly spacious and feature a queen size pedestal berth. The open feeling is enhanced by natural light provided via four port hatches (2 starboard, 2 port) and an overhead hatch. A convenient private entry door (aft to port) leads to the guest head. Storage is plentiful in the two cedar lined hanging lockers (flanking the berth) and six under berth storage drawers. The forward bulkhead is mirrored and the insuite anchor locker hatch decorated with a frosted etching.
The dual entry guest head features an etched vanity mirror and a mirrored backsplash. Notable features include the designer faucet and generous marble sink and countertop. The faucet replaces the original retractable shower wand, which can be reinstalled.
MASTER STATEROOM:
The full beam Master Stateroom (aft and 3 steps down from the salon) is the highlight of the vessel's charm. The warmth and richness of teak and bronzed mirrors completely surround the center line Asian-king size bed. To port are 4 drawers, 4 storage cabinets, 2 large hanging lockers and additional storage shelves and bins. To starboard is a built-in vanity that is flanked by additional drawers and storage cabinets. On either side of the berth are matching end tables. The two aft (opening) port hatches and the port and starboard side windows feature a stained glass treatment that adds to the warm ambiance, as well as providing privacy.
The Master (insuite) head is yet another pleasant surprise. It is spacious and beautifully appointed with a marble countertop & sink, designer faucet and light fixtures. As you enter the head and peer to the left, you will find yourself doing a double take at the huge Jacuzzi tub/shower. Two of the tub walls are mirrored and the third (aft) is a unique etched plexi-glass panel that can be hidden (for privacy) by the stateroom pocket door.
